Refund & Returns Policy – KindLift CIC

Last updated: August 2026

This Refund & Returns Policy applies to purchases made from KindLift CIC (the shop at 18 Old Sneddon Street, Paisley, PA3 2AL, and any sales arranged through us).

KindLift CIC is a Community Interest Company that sells second-hand and some new household goods, furniture, and related items as part of our reuse and community support work.

1. Our 28-day refund policy

We offer a 28-day refund or exchange period on most items purchased from us, starting from the date of purchase.

To qualify for a refund or exchange within 28 days:

  • You must return the item in the same condition as when you bought it (unused, undamaged, and with any original packaging where possible).

  • You must provide proof of purchase (receipt, order confirmation, or other clear evidence of the purchase).

  • The item must not fall under the exceptions listed below.

Refunds will normally be made using the same payment method you used to buy the item. If that is not possible, we will arrange an alternative (e.g. cash or store credit).

2. How to request a refund or return

Please contact us as soon as possible within the 28-day period:

  • In person: Bring the item and proof of purchase to the shop during opening hours (Thursday and Friday, 12pm–5pm).

  • By phone or email: Contact us to arrange a return. Phone: 0333 188 7766 Email: tommy.reid@blueprintimagine.com (or the contact email shown on kindlift.org)

We will confirm whether the item meets the return conditions and arrange the refund or exchange.

3. Faulty, damaged, or misdescribed items (your legal rights)

Your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 are not affected by this policy.

If an item is faulty, not as described, or not of satisfactory quality:

  • You have the right to a repair, replacement, or refund.

  • These rights apply for longer than 28 days (normally up to 6 months for a full refund in many cases, and longer for repairs/replacements).

  • Please contact us as soon as you notice the problem and provide details (and photos if helpful).

We will deal with these claims fairly and promptly.

4. Exceptions – items that cannot normally be refunded

The following are generally excluded from the 28-day change-of-mind refund (unless they are faulty or not as described):

  • Items given free of charge as part of our support for people transitioning from homelessness or other community assistance.

  • Items that have been used, damaged, altered, or are not in the condition they were sold in.

  • Personalised or specially ordered items (if any).

  • Items sold clearly as “sold as seen” or with known faults that were pointed out at the time of sale (common with some second-hand goods).

  • Any digital items or services (if we ever offer them).

Second-hand goods are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale. We do our best to describe them accurately and point out any obvious issues.

5. Collections / uplifts

If you have paid for a collection/uplift service and need to cancel, please contact us as soon as possible. Refunds for collection fees will be considered on a case-by-case basis depending on how much work has already been done.
